Basketball: CAC looks ahead to Episcopal

Central Arkansas Christian will play host to two 3A-6 conference showdowns at Mustang Mountain on Friday night.

Steve Quattlebaum’s Lady Mustangs (11-6, 4-0), who have had their third consecutive conference game postponed because of covid-19 issues within the opposing programs, will face Episcopal Collegiate (11-5, 5-1).

CAC won the first meeting, the conference opener, on Dec. 7, 44-40.

The Lady Mustangs are scheduled to visit Lisa Academy West, a team they beat by 71-18 last month, on Tuesday, Jan. 25, and play host to Jacksonville Lighthouse on Friday, Jan. 28.

Matt Hall’s Mustangs improved to 11-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play after Tuesday’s 80-31 win over Palestine-Wheatley.

Friday’s matchup will also feature the league’s top two boys teams. The Wildcats are 10-7 and 6-1. CAC won the first meeting, 68-58.
