North Little Rock took care of business on Tuesday night and defeated Bryant, 72-64.

Key to the win was senior guard D.J. Smith, who finished with 34 points, to lead North Little Rock.

The Cats are now 10-1 overall and 4-1 in 6A-Central play. Bryant is now 11-2 and 3-2 in league action. It matters because the top two teams in the conference will get a bye in the first round of the 6A state tournament in Fayetteville next month.

Little Rock Central is currently undefeated and with the win, North Little Rock is now second in the standings.

The next big test, and to hang on to that No. 2 seed, is a trip to Fort Smith Northside this Friday.

The Grizzlies are 3-2 and with a North Little Rock win, the Cats stay in contention for that bye.
Bryant gets its shot at revenge next Tuesday when the Hornets travel to North Little Rock.
