Maumelle Charter junior guard Dustin Gunn isn’t the biggest player on the court at 5-foot-11 but his impact is huge for the Falcons.
Gunn rolled to 27 points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals as Maumelle Charter beat Southside Bee Branch, 68-48, on Wednesday night as the Falcons will now travel to Lisa Academy North tonight for the semifinals of the 2A-5 District tournament.
The win locks down a trip to next week’s regionals at Melbourne as Maumelle Charter is one of the district’s top four teams.
A win tonight puts them into the district championship and either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed. A loss slides the Falcons into the consolation game and a win gives them the No. 3 seed, while a loss would drop them to No. 4.
