Kirk Horton had been pulling double duty at Maumelle High School as head football coach and athletics director.
Not anymore.
Horton recently announced he was giving up football to focus on his duties as AD as he told ScorebookLive.com.
In five seasons as head coach, Horton went 27-24 and mostly stayed in the middle in the extremely competitive 5A-Central with perenial state champion Pulaski Academy.
Horton has been an assistant to previous head coach Mike Buchan and had come to Maumelle when the school opened after having previously been at the now closed Pulaski Oak Grove.
