The Maumelle Area Chamber of Commerce is set to host its Annual Banquet at 6 p.m. tonight at The Venue at Westwind.
This year’s event will be especially exciting, featuring a celebratory dinner to honor Maumelle’s 40th anniversary and announce the prestigious Maumelle Person of the Year award.
Attendees will celebrate Maumelle’s incredible growth since its incorporation in 1985. Now home to nearly 20,000 residents, Maumelle is a dynamic and engaged community, earning recognition as one of Arkansas’ Volunteer Communities of the Year for 17 years. The city also boasts thriving industries, including Tractor Supply’s largest distribution center, three premier golf courses, multiple scenic lakes, and vibrant community and senior centers.
In addition to honoring the Maumelle Person of the Year, the Chamber will also recognize outstanding individuals and businesses with awards for Volunteer of the Year, Business of the Year, Educator of the Year, Veteran of the Year, and Ambassador of the Year.
This year’s keynote speakers are Connie Raley and her daughter, Alex. Connie Raley, founder of MGC Kids, has played an integral role in the community since launching the business in 1985. MGC Kids has shaped the lives of countless young athletes through its cheerleading, competitive gymnastics, Ninja, tumbling, summer camps, and after-school programs. The company recently expanded with a second location and attributes its continued success to Maumelle’s supportive business climate.
“We are excited to celebrate Maumelle’s legacy and the individuals who make our community special,” said Kellie Wall, CEO of the Maumelle Area Chamber of Commerce., in a release “This banquet is not just about looking back on our achievements, but also about inspiring future growth.”
