The Maumelle Fire Department will have a "Wet Down" ceremony this Thursday, Sept. 9, for its new Engine 2.
The ceremony will be held at Fire Station 2 and will start at 10 a.m.

A wet down ceremony is a fire department tradition used for new trucks.
Engine 2 is a 2021 Pierce rescue pumper and replaces a 2010 Smeal/Spartan pumper that the department will keep in reserve.
