Maumelle: Police arrest juvenile for attack

The Maumelle Police Department arrested a juvenile on Wednesday for two felonies after a woman reported being attacked on Aug. 7.

The woman said she had been on one of the city's walking trails and was attacked from behind and hit with a rock.

The post said detectives had been working the case and released enhanced photos and video of a person of interest, who they said was a juvenile male.

"The juvenile was taken into custody without incident and charged," the post said. 

The juvenile has been charged with:

  • Battery 2nd degree, 5-13-202, a Class “C” Felony

  • Criminal Attempt to Commit Rape, 5-3-201, a Class “A” Felony

Police said the juvenile would be charged as an adult and would be taken to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility in Little Rock.

The inmate roster at the jail didn't show any records of the arrest as of Thursday morning.
