As of April 1, 2020, Maumelle's official population count was 19,251. The city’s previous population was 17,163 in 2010. In the last decade, Maumelle grew by 2,088 residents meaning the city experienced a growth rate of 12.1 percent.
Of all the cities in Pulaski County, Maumelle had the highest growth rate in the last decade and the county remains the largest in the state with 399,125 people.
The city with the next highest growth was Sherwood at 10.9 percent. All other cities in Pulaski County grew in the 3 to 4 percent range with the exception of Wrightsville which lost 27 percent of its population.
The Little Rock Metropolitan Statistical Area also remains the state’s largest with 748,031 people, or about a quarter of the state’s total population of 3,011,524. The second largest metro area was northwest Arkansas with 546,725 people.
