The Maumelle Civil Service Commission had a meeting on Monday, Jan. 11. The public portion of it was brief as it clocked in at six minutes and 47 seconds.
That does not include an executive session the commission went in to formulate questions for upcoming testing for city promotions.
The next meeting will be testing for the police and fire departments.
New Human Resources director Doreen Mattes was introduced and she said that the city has nine candidates who are testing for sergeant, while seven are testing for lieutenant. She added three of those were also testing for sergeant. She didn't have the number of candidates testing for fire department promotions.
After she was introduced, she said she was "very happy to be" working in Maumelle and that she previously worked in HR for the city of Little Rock. Her focus there was public safety.
Commissioners were also reminded that statements of financial interest need to be filed with the City Clerk's office by Jan. 31.
