North Little Rock sophomore Caroline Jones finished as overall runner-up in last week’s state tennis tournament at Burns Park.
Jones lost to Stella de Vera of Rogers Heritage – 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 — and the pair are pictured above.
Jones was also named All-State for her efforts. Tennis runs in the family for her as her mom, North Little Rock municipal Judge Paula Juels Jones, was all-state and eventually All-American for North Little Rock Northeast in 1990. Juels Jones then went on to play collegiately at the University of Tennessee, where she was all-SEC.
Also named All-State from North of the River include:
Ethan Tan, Maumelle
Matt New, Central Arkansas Christian
Dylan Ferguson, Maumelle Charter
In doubles, Caroline Nick and Alyssa Jansen of CAC were named all-state.
All-state golfers were also announced and they are:
