The Pulaski County Special School District will be back on the traditional five-day week for its schools.
This past school year, the district had been going with an early dismissal on Wednesdays.
That won’t be the case for the 2021-22 school year as the early dismissal, favored by the district, was discussed at the May meeting and then again at the June meeting, but no action was taken.
The Arkansas Department of Education requires a request for waiver to allow for early dismissals be submitted this month, so the matter won’t be brought at the July meeting of the School Board.
The first day of school for students will be Aug. 16, with professional development and classroom preparation starting on Aug. 9, and Aug. 12, respectively.
Winter break will run from Dec. 21 through Jan. 3 and the last day of school for students will be May 27, 2022.
