Last Thursday, Feb. 13, Executive Director Shannon Morgan of Simmons First Foundation presented a check to the Board of Directors of White Oak Bayou Wetlands Conservancy for $20,000 to construct an ADA Kayak Launch in the Public Wetlands Park being developed adjacent to Devoe Bend Subdivision in Maumelle.
Each year the Conservancy hosts guided floats on White Oak Bayou providing kayaks and canoes at no cost to participants. The Conservancy is working with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission to establish a Water Trail in the park and the ADA Kayak Launch funded by Simmons First Foundation will be the starting point.
