You’ve heard this one before, but the forecast is in and it is not good.
Been a real theme this week as the National Weather Service office in North Little Rock still has high expectations that the snow and very cold conditions will carry on.
Here’s the basics: Snow on Tuesday night, followed by more snow on Wednesday with it tapering off going into the night. That's followed by a chance of snow on Thursday, with temperatures going above freezing on Friday with a predicted high of 33.
Saturday it is supposed to be mostly sunny and a balmy 40.
Day-by-Day breakdown
Tonight: Total nighttime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Wednesday: New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.
Wednesdaynight: New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Thursday: 30 percent chance of snow before noon.
Friday: Sunny, with a high near 33, with a low around 15 that night.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40.
The wintry weather has caused numerous local issues.
In North Little Rock, the city’s Electric Department, much like Entergy, has asked its customers to conserve, “as much energy as possible” while the state battles, “extremely cold temperatures.”
Some suggestions include:
Lowering thermostats a couple of degrees
Keep the drapes or blinds closed
Turn off unnecessary lights and appliances.
Garbage will also not be picked up on Wednesday and Thursday in North Little Rock and residents there are asked to not place trash on the street,
There’s also a number of streets that are closed in North Little Rock and they include:
Avalon Drive and MacArthur Drive
Valley View - top of hill and bottom of hill
Scenic Drive and JD Ashley - top of hill
Scenic Drive - bottom of hill at Pershing Boulevard
