This is Jimbo Pearson’s third season to be the varsity girls volleyball coach at Maumelle and he’s ready to go, along with assistant coach Kim Robinson.
The season started late in August, but regular matches start this week and there’s a scheduled trip to Jacksonville on Tuesday, followed by another road match on Thursday at Sylvan Hills. Then three matches next week, at home against Morrilton on Monday, followed by trips to Little Rock Christian and Little Rock Hall on Tuesday and Thursday.
All matches are Covid permitting.
Pearson said some players to keep an eye on this season include: Camille Shaw, Trista Dillard, Shiann Dollarhide, Paige Milburn, Haylie England and Caroline Wright.
As far as the 5A-Central goes for volleyball, Pearson said, “It will always be key to play well against Sylvan Hills and Jacksonville. They are always good.
He added that Little Rock Christian “and Benton will always be in the hunt for the conference and state titles.”
