A dozen schools in the Pulaski County Special School District will again be participating in the Community Eligibility Provision, a federal program that provides free school meals to all students attending.
The program is through the USDA’s Special Assistance Certification and Reimbursement Community Eligibility Provision.
All schools in the district will participate in the National School Lunch Program that allow students to receive free or reduced price school meals and heads of household must apply though. Application forms are available online and at each PCSSD school; the forms can be turned in between July through June 30, 2024. Only one application should be submitted for each household.
Households that receive SNAP, have children enrolled in Head Start/Even Start programs; certified as migrant, homeless, or runaway and foster children are all eligible for free meals.
Student meals next school year will cost, at full price, $2.50 for breakfast and lunch is $3.50 for elementary school students and $3.75 for older students.
