Maumelle residents are joining together for this year's holiday parade. The parade will start at 1 p.m. this Saturday and participants will meet at 100 Audubon Drive starting at noon.
Those wanting to participate need to register their car or truck or motorcycle by emailing Derrick Slater at aslater80@yahoo.com. They also need to include their vehicle’s tag number.
The Maumelle Planning Commission will have a subcommittee meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The meeting will be in the Blue Room at City Hall.
The agenda is a light one, with only three items and the city is the applicant in the three code amendments.
The requests are for staff review and approval of minor plats along with reducing paperwork for preliminary plat applications and final plat applications.
What’s for lunch
The cafe at Maumelle Center on the Lake has been open during the ongoing pandemic with some limits. Dine-in, with tables spaced six feet apart, is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and curbside, to-go remains available as well, also from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, call 501-851- 4344
The deadline for Very Merry Maumelle was on Sunday but judging and awards will follow this Thursday. Houses will be awarded a 2020 yard sign, for all the bragging rights, as well as goodies sponsored by Crye-Leike of Maumelle.
Categories to win include: Most Merry in Maumelle, Mayor's Choice, and Peoples Choice. The house’s resident must consent to photos taken and posted on Facebook for our People's Choice Category. Judges are local Crye-Leike of Maumelle realtors.
Sherwood’s Enchanted Forest Trail of Lights
The relatively short drive to Sherwood’s Enchanted Forest Trail of Lights is very much worth it. The trail is over a mile of lights winding through the Sherwood Sports Complex and starts at 6 p.m. nightly. Admission is free and the trail closes at 9:30 p.m. Donations to fund future light displays are accepted though. The entrance gate is at 511 Bear Paw Road in Sherwood.
