North Little Rock coach Johnny Rice got his 200th career win, all at North Little Rock, on Tuesday when his team took down Little Rock Southwest, 82-36.
Rice, a North Little Rock native, is in his ninth season at the school and has guided them to lofty heights. The Cats have won four state titles in Rice’s time there and has become a nationally regarded program with numerous players going on to play college basketball.
Against Southwest, it was college caliber talent that beat the Gryphons.
Kel’el Ware led all scorers with 19 points and the junior forward has been offered scholarships by the Arkansas Razorbacks, among many others.
College recruits D.J. Smith and Tracy Steele, Jr., both had 14, while Ubong Etim, who has already signed with Bowling Green, finished with 10.
North Little Rock will face Little Rock Catholic this Friday, while on Tuesday they travel to Fort Smith for a game at Northside.

North Little Rock defeated Southwest, 81-23, on Tuesday night. It was over early as North Little Rock was up 51-11 at the half.
North Little Rock will face Mount St. Mary’s this Friday and will play at Fort Smith Northside the following Tuesday.
