Central Arkansas Water released a statement on Tuesday praising and thanking the efforts of Maumelle to conserve water during last week’s winter storms.

The statement follows.

Central Arkansas Water wants to thank Maumelle for cooperation during the past week’s unprecedented snowstorm that enabled CAW to keep everyone provided with water service.

We did not see the same issues in Maumelle’s pressure plain that we saw in other areas of our system due to main breaks, but the cooperation of Maumelle customers to conserve water helped relieve pressure on our treatment plant and ensure water delivery to all 500,000 people who rely on Central Arkansas Water.

Thanks to that teamwork, Central Arkansas Water did not lose pressure anywhere in its system nor did it have to issue a boil water notice. By working together, we avoided the headlines of Texas and other Arkansas communities. We appreciate Maumelle’s role in that teamwork.
