Commercial Real Estate Council of Metro Little Rock, or CREC MLR, held the third annual Commercial Real Estate Awards on March 11 to recognize the largest real estate transactions made in the previous year that were submitted for the event. Sales transactions are based on reported dollar amounts and lease transactions are based on reported square footage.
Jay Chesshir, President and CEO of the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Jeff Yates, ARK Commercial & Investment Real Estate and Vice-President of CREC MLR, emceed the virtual program. The awards will be presented in person at an event on May 20, 2021.

The Project of the Year is one that sets itself apart from other transactions, and CREC acknowledges the entire team that worked to bring it together. Brokers, engineers, architects, contractors, attorneys, banks, and title companies all contribute to successful commercial real estate in metro Little Rock. 2019’s Project of the Year, Riverdale Shopping Center, included public and private sectors and a large team of commercial real estate professionals working on an extensive redevelopment project. This year’s nominees include:
Indian Hills/Overbrook/South Oaks: Ted Bailey III and Richard Cheek, The Multifamily Group: The complex sale of three different properties was a result of brokerage firms in Arkansas, Texas, Tennessee, and Arizona collaborating to finalize a deal involving several multi-unit projects in Little Rock/North Little Rock. Overbrook, Indian Hills, and South Oaks apartment complexes were sold for a total of $66,232,000.
Pointe North Hills: Keith Richardson, Richardson Properties: This project was the improvement of 20 acres of land in North Little Rock to create a luxury 300-unit apartment complex, showcasing the most modern amenities, many of which are not available in any other development in the metro Little Rock area.
