Barrett Davis, the long-time baseball coach at Maumelle High School, has left to become the Assistant Principal at Maumelle Charter High School, said Principal Katie Johnson on Friday morning.
Barrett Davis
Davis, the son of North Little Rock High School athletics director Gary Davis, was at Maumelle for the last decade where he served as a teacher and coach.
A graduate of Arkansas Tech, where he was a pitcher for the Wonderboys, Davis also has a K-12 Building Level Leader Licensure from Arkansas State University.
In a letter to Maumelle Charter families and stakeholders, Johnson wrote of Davis, “He has been relied on as a leader due to his ability to supervise, while also easily connecting with students, teachers, and parents.”
She added that, “Davis is already well known among the community and has great compassion to help those in need while remaining focused on students as the heart of education.”
Johnson said that Davis would solely be Assistant Principal and that “David Kenley will be our head baseball coach next year.”
