Christmas break comes a little bit early this year for Oak Grove Elementary and Maumelle Middle as the two schools will switch to virtual instruction for Thursday and Friday.
School is out the following two weeks for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Pulaski County Special School District spokeswoman Jessica Duff said that while Covid-19 case counts were low at the schools, quarantine measures for staff and students were climbing as “probable close contacts” were increasing at the respective locations.
The next day of in-person schooling for the students at those schools will be Jan. 5, 2021.
Duff said teachers would use Schoology to communicate with students and two-day meal boxes would be available by calling between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Thursday.
The numbers to call are:
Oak Grove Elementary, 501-234-4258 with boxes available at the main entrance
Maumelle Middle, 501-234-4517 with meal boxes available at the cafeteria entrance door
Certified and classified staff not in quarantine are still expected to report to school for work while virtual instruction will be done from the classroom.
