Football Notebook: Maumelle to play Thursday night

The regular season starts Thursday for Maumelle as the Hornets will be at Sylvan Hills on Thursday night.

The game is set to start at 7 p.m.

Hootens Arkansas Football has picked Maumelle to witn the game by 4 and noted that Sylvan Hills struggled last week at Greenbrier, while the Hornets took care of business and beat Ozark, 21-7, last Friday. The scrimmage there featured some big hits by linebacker Skyler McClure among others.

Streaming tonight

Sports streamer Natural State Sports will have a Coach’s show with Kirk Horton, broadcasting live from American Pie Pizza tonight at 7 p.m. and should be every following Tuesday at 7 p.m. until the season is over.

El Dorado at North Little Rock

North Little Rock will host El Dorado in a scrimmage game at 7 p.m. on Friday night.

Tickets are $4 and social distancing will be enforced with limited seating at the stadium. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the home side ticket booth on Wednesday.

CAC game postponed

Arkansas high school football has its first Covid postponement of the fall.

The Central Arkansas Christian and Mayflower game has been moved to Sept. 17 instead of this Friday.

Mayflower confirmed the move and said it was related to “Covid circumstances.”
