Hotels and Resorts are fine but when vacationing I'd rather rent a nice house 9 times out of 10. This bill would open up more options. Plus how else can you follow through with eliminating the income tax (per the governor) unless you increase tourism. Well known tourist cities shouldn't be allowed to play favorites allowing hotels and resorts while keeping house owners out of the equation.

Ellen. I am truly sorry for your experience with vacation rental guests. As owners of multiple Airbnb’s within Hot Springs, we use a platform to screen all of our guests and have never had so much as a stain on the carpet. In fact, most folks leave the cleaning crew little if anything to do when they get there. I believe the trouble lies with ensuring that the owners are responsible, not so much the legislation. On our end, we barely break even on the investment, though we continue to provide that service so folks can enjoy Arkansas within the comfort of a home, not a hotel room. All the best.
