If you want a pit bull, move to Little Rock or another location where they can be tolerated. Many other breeds and shelter dogs who are not pit bulls are available to love. Hundreds of non viscous rescue dogs are waiting to be loved.

Paul...How is LR capable of “tolerating” a misunderstood breed but not Maumelle. What would be your responsibility in “tolerating”. Go read Councilman Tierney’s article and get educated on how many dog attacks or bites have been reported in Maumelle and by what breeds. Should those breeds be banned?
At the end of the day this is about human responsibility in training, socializing and handing our pets. Any dog can be trained to be dangerous and any dog can be trained to love people and other animals. Therefore the council shouldn’t ban a breed. They should have strict penalties in place for owners (of all breeds) to make sure that Maumelle keeps bad breeders/trainers out. Don’t ignore the facts. Maumelle has had dog attacks/bites but they were primarily black labs and German shepherds...not Pit Bulls, and that’s not because there is a ban on Pit Bulls and there are none in Maumelle. It’s because Pit Bull owners in Maumelle are responsible owners who have taken responsibility to socialize and train their dogs...they are the once’s who are being penalized by this ban.

Never seen CNN report about sweet chihuahuas maiming a lady then disembowel her.

Non-vicious rescues like the sweet chihuahua which is noted as one of the most vicious dogs along with the cute little weenie dog.
