Students at Maumelle High School were busy last Saturday as they spent the day in a service project at the school.
The students, around 25, were joined by parents and other community leaders to build picnic tables on the school’s campus. The students are part of the engineering program at Maumelle and built a total of six picnic tables.
“It was a beautiful day for the community to come together Saturday and build picnic tables for the teacher and students,” said Lori Lachowsky, a teacher at the school.
Of the six tables built, four will be for students, while the other two will be for teachers.
Sherri Keesee is the engineering teacher at the school, and supplies to build two more tables were later donated by Whit Davis Lumber Company.
Donors for the program include:
Daryl Brock Construction
Lisa Sugs, Crye-Leike Realty
Gene Blair, Whit Davis Lumber in Greenbrier
Jamie Turner
Cypress Social
Each will have an engraved plaque on a table with their name to recognize their donations.
