The Travs went 5-1 in the homestand at Dickey-Stephens Park last week against visiting Tulsa.

Now, the Travs hit the road for two weeks with trips to Northwest Arkansas and Tulsa before coming back home for a series that starts on July 6 against Frisco.

Key to the success of the Travs last week was pitcher Penn Murfee, who threw a complete game shutout against the Drillers last Friday. Murfee threw only 109 pitches with 70 being strikes as he only allowed three hits in the win. He racked up 11 strikeouts and that, and the nine innings pitched were both career bests.

Murfee’s performance, which earned League Pitcher of the Week honors, kept up the Travs strong pitching rotation despite the move of Ian McKinney to Triple-A Tacoma.

And as the transaction wire takes, it also gives, as pitchers Brandon Williamson and Stephen Kolek got the call to Double-A from the Everett AquaSox.

While there’s no baseball this week, there is Yoga in the Outfield on Saturday morning. Click here for more details.
