The ongoing pandemic has been on many businesses, but maybe nothing has been impacted quite like live performances.
Shows from Broadway to community staples like the Argenta Community Theater have had entire seasons cancelled.
But like Broadway is coming back, it was announced at a press conference today that so is the Judy Kohn Tenenbaum Argenta Community Theater. A grand re-opening has been scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 17.
The event will be held at the Argenta Plaza and will include dinner, performances and also an awards presentation to Inviting Arkansas owner and publisher Michelle Towne. Ticket prices will start at $175 with tables ranging from $1,500 to a sponsors table for $5,000.
Among those on hand will be the actor Ben Vereen, along with the cast of the upcoming show Pippin, that will debut the following night, Aug. 18. Vereen won a Tony Award, Broadway’s highest honor, for his performance in the original production of Pippin.
Producing Artistic Director will be Vincent Insalaco and tickets range from $25-$35
Steel Magnolias: Sept 16-26
Ticket sales from Steel Magnolias will benefit ACANSA and the show is co-produced by both it and the Theater. It will be directed by Heather Norris and tickets are $35
The Sound of Music: Nov. 3-13 at the Theater and Nov. 16-21 at Wildwood Park for the Arts
Ticket Sales from The Sound of Music benefit both the theater and Wildwood Park for the Arts. It will be directed by Vincent Insalaco with music direction by Wildwood’s Dr. Bevan Keating. Tickets are from $10-35
A Christmas Carol: Dec. 8-18
Group rates and private holiday parties are available upon request. Email info@argentacommunitytheater.org for more information. The director will be Jamie Stewart and tickets are from $10 to $30.
A Little Night Music: Feb. 1-6, 2022
Ticket sales will benefit Opera in the Rock and the Theater. Judy Trice and Vincent Insalaco are co-directors with Opera in the Rock providing music direction. Tickets are $45.
Our Town: March 9-19, 2022
Major Ben Grimes will direct and tickets are $10 to $30.
The Wizard of Oz: April 27-May 7, 2022
Vincent Insalaco will direct and tickets are $10 to $35.
Acting Up, Summer 2022
