The city of North Little Rock and the Arkansas Economic Development Institute have set a meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 6 to discuss development along East Broadway and includes the Dark Hollow neighborhood.
The meeting will start at 6 p.m. and be held at the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce.
The area, known as East Broadway and Census Tract 28 covers most of east North Little Rock. and roughly south of Interstate 40, east of I-30 and hugs along the Arkansas River, as seen in the map below.
It is considered an “Opportunity Zone” by the state, one of 8 in Pulaski County, and that makes it eligible for incentives like lower taxes for developers of projects there.
The first meeting on the area was held in March and identified then were three areas to focus on:
Economic Development and Education
Communication with city leaders and infrastructure
Housing
First Assembly of God and Shorter College will also help with resources for the area.
