The School Board for the North Little Rock School District approved a mask mandate for students, faculty and visitors at a special call meeting on Wednesday night.
District spokesman Dustin Barnes said in an email that, “face coverings must be worn … at school or a school function in any school building or facility, when riding on school-provided transportation, or at bus stops.”
North Little Rock joins a growing number of districts that have approved mask mandates and Pulaski County Special School District approved its mask mandate on Tuesday night,
Barnes had previously said that support for a mask mandate was wide-spread and 3,915 North Little Rock stakeholders responded to a survey on a mask mandate. Barnes said, “82 percent of the respondents said they support a mask mandate throughout the district.”
